I wish we could be there, but great things are coming out of CES including Poynt. Poynt is a free all-in-one local search application for your BlackBerry smartphone. Thanks to the last beta they had, it appears they listened and the product released has some nice fixes for you to Poynt your way anywhere you want!

Poynt can point out all the locations you want to know nearby. It is location based with GPS. It shows your weather and the front screen shows day or night depending what time it is where you are. A carousel shows you all the options you have to look through. You can also look up through the Options key and  send Poynt to a friend. You can look up Businesses, People, Movies, Restaurants, Gas Prices, Map It (a choice of BlackBerry or Google Maps). Now you can type in businesses you’re looking for which works nice.

Restaurants, see ratings, what’s close, or go by which restaurant type of ethnicity you’re looking for. Gas Prices, see the nearest Gas Stations and the cheapest. I love being able to choose your maps, but best of all they have the saying at the top: “where can we poynt you today?”

If you’d like to try Poynt, you can download it through BlackBerry App World or through the Poynt site itself. If you need to read more, head on over to the Poynt site here.
