Thanks to Tobias for letting us know about Nimbuzz being released. It is the only native multi-IM app and the only one with Skype support and including Facebook, Yahoo, AIM, GoogleTalk, MSN, Twitter, MySpace, ICQ, etc. There’s other network IM apps out there, but this one is free to download and use.
They have just crossed the ten million user milestone (that’s quite the number) with the addition of approximately 40,000 users a day. They’re excited about bringing Nimbuzz to the 38 million BlackBerry subscribers out there. Just last week they were honored by RIM with the Connect On BlackBerry Award for the Most Innovative App.
The app is optimized to run on BlackBerry devices running 4.6 or higher such as: Pearl Flip, Tour, Storm, Bold, Tour, and the Curve 8900. This app allows users to call, chat, and interact with their friends from mobile to mobile, mobile to pc and vice versa. It is also available on other platforms such as Windows Mobile, Android, and iPhone. This will allow you to keep in touch in chat no matter what device your friends sport.
You can download the app from BlackBerry App World or from the Nimbuzz site here.
If you download it, please let us know what you think of it. There’s always a request for Skype on a BlackBerry, so I’m curious to see what everyone thinks. I only use the BlackBerry Messenger and the GoogleTalk, so for me, it wouldn’t really be used to it’s full potential. We’re curious nonetheless, please share.
