Okay - After they removed and readded me to the BES I was able to do a clean activation without issues. However, Facebook isn't compatible and it rebooted twice, once the first time I went to install Facebook and then when I was browsing Twitter. So, I've uninstalled the 5.0 and I'm waiting for another wipe to finish so that I can downgrade back to 4.7. Other things that were missing in this release were:
1. Media - Music player was there and you could go to downloads and see "My Files" and plan folder outlines for the different media types
2. individual email icons in the list appear in black and white after opening.
3. Far fewer games and extras in the various preloaded folders.
4. Doesn't (or wouldn't) boot in safe mode

Good stuff:
1. Tabbed browsing - seemed more solid (w/my limited use)
2. Even though you have to prompt it to get images, you can tell it to remember your acknowledgement that it exposes your email address.
3. More keyboard/screen options
4. Progress bar on boot and wipe functions
5. Message options expanded
6. Probably more but I really didn't get an opportunity to really experience it fully to pick up on everything.

I'd love to see others experiences.

Thanks.

Installed on my Tour mid-morning and left it restoring at lunch. Returned to find the restore had failed so I manually restored from the backup that was created. Then an Enterprise Activation started automatically (which is typical) but it would only get so far along before it would reboot. The cycle repeated itself (wirelessly) while I sat through 2 LONG meetings until it stayed up long enough for me to wipe the device (sadly - including all of my 3rd party apps). When I got back in the office, I tried again with the same results. Now I'm trying to decide whether to have them remove me and add me back to the BES so that it won't try to restore old settings or to just go back 4.7. (Indecision may or may not be one of my problems...)

In between reboots I can sadly confirm that the horizontal navigation with the track ball is still horrible. :-( The good news is that there is now a progress bar displayed while it boots and there really is tabbed browsing. :-)

Perhaps someone not using a BES can upgrade and post a more favorable reply.
