BlackBerry Onyx in the wild with a Trackpad

When the BlackBerry Onyx first showed its face on the internet, it was orginally sporting RIM’s classic trackball. It was rumored that RIM was thinking about putting the new optical trackpad into this device code-named “Onyx” and it seems that they did. New pictures have surfaced online showing the Onyx’s new touchpad and it looks hot! This means the Onyx will be packing a sexy new compact design with 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G radio, Wi-Fi and GPS all in one. Still no word on when it will be officially released, but stay tuned.

Google CEO caught on camera sporting a BlackBerry!

Bahaha in a direct slap to Android, Google CEO Eric Schmidt was caught on camera rocking what you would think would be an Android powered smartphone, but no it was a BlackBerry. Seems the Google CEO has a love for BlackBerry devices and seems to be rocking either Curve 8900 or Storm (we can’t tell from the photo). I wonder if he is rocking the new BES Connector for Google Apps?

Upgrade Alert: BBWeather v0.85 Is Released, Upgrade Your Favorite Weather App!

I can always tell that there are upgrades in the air, my BlackBerry starts hourglassing more than normal and I get frustrated doing more battery pulls. The other day I received the error while trying to pull up my BBWeather, “Missing XOAP ’link’”. I just deleted the app, but relieved they announced an upgrade to save my favorite weather app.

Thanks to Ronen, at BerryReview.com, who posted about the upgraded version 0.85 that is released. This is one of my fave apps because it’s accurate, I can see five day forecasts, and look on my desktop to see the current conditions outside, but best of all, it’s FREE! Critical Upgrade Alert: Upgrade for SmrtGuard v1.80, Please Upgrade ASAP

We just got an email today from SmrtGuard, and SmrtGuard has released an upgrade, v1.80, and customers  are being urged to upgrade as the remote controls will not worked correctly until the upgrade is downloaded and installed. Please upgrade your version of SmrtGuard, a happy BlackBerry is an updated one for sure. Please consider this update as important, critical to your SmrtGuard and BlackBerry and upgrade now.

Features included are:1. Added more security to underlying messaging transport
2. Fixed Audio Ping issue on new BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry 8900 model
3. Fixed problem with disclaimer popup display more than once
4. Other minor improvements

There are two ways to upgrade. 

One, go to the SmrtGuard site from your BlackBerry and click on download.

Two, on your BlackBerry:

1. Click on SmrtGuard icon
2. Click on About SmrtGuard menu
3. Click on “Check for Update”

    BlackBerry Owners: Want To See Your Favorite Shows On Your BlackBerry?

    I know there are those of us who know that you can watch movies and videos on your BlackBerry. And there are the newbies just learning as fledglings, excited with every new thing you can learn about the phone. Yes, there’s more than just you tube! You can watch videos, your tv shows,  and movies on your phone.

    There’s a great website for some of your favorite tv shows and a few specials on there too. The site is Videos4BlackBerry. Bla1ze is not only the mod over at CrackBerry, but this owner of Videos4BlackBerry too, and and he has done a fantastic job of satisfying our need for our shows. There are different shows that you can download, currently new is True Blood Season 1 for all you vampire lovers who love the show. There’s Weeds, the all new Rescue Me, the all new Deadliest Catch, Transformers: The Animated Movie, Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker, Burn Notice, and Royal Pains. There’s even CSI,  CSI Miami, and The Office. There’s more of course, many popular shows, and you can download them and watch them on your BlackBerry. Time to get a larger microsd card, and let your BlackBerry be your “dvd” player too. Don’t miss your favorite episodes, keep them to watch again. There’s even Lost!

    The way you save and watch your videos is to download and save it to your pc or notebook. I always save to my desktop where it’s easy to find. Next you will bring up your BlackBerry Desktop Manager and you can transfer the video to your phone through the media, where you will move the video file to your BlackBerry video file. It’s very easy, it’s exactly the same way as you’re moving mp3’s and movies.

    There’s something for everyone, you can find your favorite shows and it’s even better than recording it on tv and going home to watch. You can take them with you. I’m glad someone thought of this great idea of having your tv shows available to you. Thanks Bla1ze!

    So, what are you waiting for? Go get a larger microsd card and go check out Videos4BlackBerry, and download your favorite shows. No longer do you need to feel deprived!

    Inspiring and Artistic Themes To Dress Your BlackBerry By NinjaThemes

    There are some really nice themes around and quite a few theme designers, and there are some really beautiful ones from NinjaThemes. There are twenty three available, some are free and some have a small price, but they’re all worth it. I’m going to feature a few to show, but I know you’re going to be impressed.

    The themes by this designer are creative, vibrant, and very attention-grabbing. You can see the thought in each theme, and as I always suggest, please do a battery pull after the install. The themes are for the BlackBerry Curve 83xx series, Curve 8900, and the Bold 9000. There are various designs and styles, and something for everyone.

This theme features Today and Bottom theme, colorful watchmen wallpapers from the movie, the 6-icon bottom dock is customizable, and they are Bold-like icons. Great theme if you love the comics and movie and want to show your love for the Watchmen! All that’s missing is My Chemical Romance’s “Desolation Row”.

    This theme is the iHeart theme for the ladies out there. It’s girly and sweet, for the Curve 83xx 4.5 OS only. You can download the iHeart theme for FREE from the BlackBerry Sync Store. There are iPhone icons and a customizable bottom dock. There’s pink icons, pink menus, pink wallpapers, it’s totally pink, and very iPhone-like in style. You can make everyday Valentines with this theme.

    And this theme is Neu. It is for the Bold 9000. This one is design by Lilhaloshaka and the theme by Ninja. This theme is slick, minimalistic, easy on the eyes. The icons on the homescreen are user defined. I like this theme and the way it feels fresh and crisp. You can download the Neu theme for FREE from the BlackBerry Sync Store.

    These are just a few of the wonderful colorful 32 themes available, and I encourage you to check them out from the BlackBerry Sync Store and you’ll find even more.     HOT!!! Official Wordpress BlackBerry App now in Public Beta… Download NOW!

    Wow I wasn’t expecting it to come so soon! Official word has just come from Matt at Wordpress that their new BlackBerry App is now in public beta. It’s still got a few hiccups that needs to be worked out, but you can download it and check it out. This is great news for Wordpress bloggers such as myself, who want to be able to post on the go. If you’re a Wordpress blogger download the Wordpress for BlackBerry App Beta by pointing your browser to blackberry.wordpress.org/install.

    And here’s what you need to know if you want to take the app for a spin (via):

    • The app is for WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress version 2.5.1 or newer

    HOT! BlackBerry Onyx 9020 Unboxing Video!

    I know we’ve been covering a lot of BlackBerry Tour news, but for all of your who are 3G GSM users this one is for you! The hot unreleased BlackBerry Onyx 9020 has been unboxed on video. Ronen over at BerryReview has sent a tip about this video on Youtube showing off this hot new device. This video is the first of its kind to show the included accessories that will come with the device, as well what the box itself looks like. Enjoy the video!
