July 6, 2009 | By | 4 Comments

Bellshare GmbH has announced that BerryBuzz has started it’s v2.0 Beta. It was open for a while through requests, but they are no longer accepting requests. For those of you who are unfamiliar with BerryBuzz, it’s an extension to your BlackBerry alert system, using buzz and changing of LED lights to alert you.

What makes BerryBuzz unique is that you can customize the led lights by the color, the time it flashes, and even choosing disco lights with the newer beta. You can keep the light flashing longer than the default of 15 minutes, and add vibrate and ring. It now adds supportĀ  for the BlackBerry messengerĀ and Facebook. Their website has a list of all the new changes this app will include.

The original BerryBuzz is in the BlackBerry Sync Store and includes the following features:

  • Customize the LED color and set an individual repeating alert for
  • - E-Mails (individual for each account or one for all)
  • - PIN Messages (sent via the default e-mail messaging application)
  • - SMS
  • - Calendar Events
  • - Missed phone calls
  • When multiple alerts are active at the same time, every color will flash in a repeating pattern. SEE WHATS GOING ON WITH YOUR BLACKBERRY FROM ACROSS THE ROOM!
  • Customizable rapid flashing LED for incoming phone calls
  • Customizable vibrate for incoming calls. Vibrates while ringing.
  • LED will keep flashing until acknowledged (BlackBerry defaults to flash only for 15 min).
  • Optional slow down of LED flashing after specified time to save battery life
  • Optimized for minimum battery and memory usage
  • Support for instango custom colored LED (instango 2.2.83 or higher)
  • I added a few pictures so that you can see some of the neat and new things to look forward to. Meanwhile, we still have the BerryBuzz V1.0.25 in the BlackBerry Sync Store for $5.95 or you can download the free trial, while you wait for the app to come out of Beta.
