Free App: GoodFoodNearYou v1.00 by Global Fitness Media, LLC
Sometimes the best things in life are free, and you never know what you’ll find. In the BlackBerry Sync Store, you can find accessories, but you also can find several apps and launchers, and many of which are FREE. So the free app, GoodFoodNearYou, might be something you’ve been waiting for.
Going with the health revolution, it’s hard to stick to good choices on a menu. This app will help you find the best food choices in the most common restaurants near you. It is a free-to-use location-based that will help you find healthier food choices at the restaurant. In a simple search you have the access to the menus and the nutrition information (calories, fat, etc.) for popular casual dining restaurants, some fast food restaurants, even grocery and convenience stores. It gives you the lowest calorie item of the place near you. With this app you can now make fast, healthy, and smart choices for a meal no matter where you are: work, out on the town, out for lunch, traveling, vacationing, anywhere you go. No longer do you have to feel guilty about not being able to decide which choice is best or what to order. Or you can let GoodFoodNearYou help find good choices and let it be the one to keep you in line. If you download the app, please leave a comment letting us know what you think.

I tried a couple times to get this app by following the link above (on my Storm). Each time I click the “Free download” link in the store it just does a page refresh and nothing was ever offered for download. Dunno what’s up there.
I was able to get the app by going to their web site directly where you are prompted to chose your phone model and enter your cell phone number. Then a text message arrived about 3 hours later with a tinyurl link to download the app. Man, I really hate vendors forcing text messages on people. Don’t they realize not everybody has unlimited sms? And some have sms disabled?
So I got the version for Storm at http://tinyurl.com/dbjc29.
Fired it up and it git my location from GPS. Cool. Gave me a list by distance of places to get food. Will have to try thisfor sure next time I’m away from home!!!
So, funny thing was, the closest “GoodFoodForYou” item presented on the list was a jelly donut at the corner convenience store!!! LOL!
DavidB, thanks for letting me know. I know we have another app that was missing the download as well. I don’t know why they do that. Jelly donuts? That’s hilarious! I don’t know why they go with text delivery, but many companies have resorted to that. Thank you so much for sharing the link!
