MetroPCS has usually been a lost cost network with no contracts and lots of unlimited features. Today MetroPCS launched their first BlackBerry smartphone and they picked a great unit, the BlackBerry Curve 8330. MetroPCS is offering the Curve 8330 in Red only contract free for $449 and you can unlimited talk, text and data for only $50 a month. Here’s the best part if your using it for business you can add BES access for only $10 more dollars a month! For more details on MetroPCS plans and smartphones visit

It’s about time that someone offered a PREPAID BlackBerry service in the US.
I hope other cell phone carriers will follow!

But what about the Bold 9000? Can it be unlocked and function on MetroPCS if it was once locked to ATT? How does that work? I know that the Bold uses 800 or 1900 Mhz and the Metro network in North America is also 1700 or 1900 Mhz, so you would think you could make it functional. What is the concensus on that, and where would i have to go to get it flashed over? I don’t wanna part with my Bold… :(

This has to be the BEST phone ever, DO NOT flash a Blackberry over to metroPCS, you won’t get any of the features that you would by just buying it, better then the Bold! I’m downloading FREE OTA MP3s, apps, ringtones and games… AND THERE IS NO LIMIT! Best Phone on the best plan…not so great network…YET!
