e-mobile weather v3.1

What is the weather like? What is it going to be like this weekend? With e-mobile Weather v3.1 installed on your Blackberry you can find out in an instant, and with the supplied themes you can customize the background to your preferences.

There are a few screens available on the program and you can choose the start up screen that you desire in the settings. The default start up screen is the multiple cities and is customizable with the locations of your own choosing.  Once the cities you want to keep up on are listed you can select one of them as your “My City”. What this does is updates the icon on your Blackberry home screen to show the current weather.

That way you can tell “at a glance” what the conditions are without actually opening the program.

The opening screen can be made to reflect either the “cities” view, or your own city view showing the current conditions as well as a 5 day forecast.

Once you select the home screen that you desire you are set to go!  The navigation is very simple and intuitive, and the six themes to choose from are nice to look at in the background. I would have liked to see more plain color background themes personally, but there are a couple that are close enough to plain without being too much of a distraction.

There are 2 more screens accessible from the city view. The 5 day weather trend, and the radar image.

The radar image is a still image snap from the area radar.

The 5 day weather trend screen gives a graphical view of the upcoming 5 days.

The settings screen is 2 part and very simple. This is where you can select either “my city” or “city list” as your first screen.

You can also select the “units” either Imperial for those of us stateside or Metric for just about everyone else.

The second settings screen is to change the network setting (no need to change for most users), and to turn on or off the auto refresh for weather data.

Overall this is an easy, intuitive program. It appears to use data from Accuweather.com. If I had to pick the 2 best features I would say:

#1 would be the multi-city view, very handy if you are traveling or have clients/contacts in another city.

#2 Is the home screen icon that shows the current conditions without opening the program.

e-Mobile Weather is compatible with: BlackBerry: 7130c, 7130e, 7130g, 7130v, 8100 (Pearl), 8110 (Pearl), 8120 (Pearl), 8130 (Pearl), 8220 (Pearl Flip), 8300 (Curve), 8310 (Curve), 8320 (Curve), 8330 (Curve), 8350i (Curve), 8700c, 8700f, 8700g, 8700r, 8700v, 8703e, 8705g, 8707g, 8707h, 8707v, 8800, 8820, 8830, 8900 (Curve), 9000 (Bold), Curve, Pearl, Storm
