BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) 2.6 on the way VERY soon…
Details have arrived that RIM will be launching a new version of BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) which will bring better support for IMAP Gmail accounts. When using Gmail on IMAP you will no longer receive an email for every sent message. Other features include:
- Elimination of duplicate Gmail messages appearing as received email messages; and
- One-way synchronization of read status, sent items, and deleted items.
- GMail accounts which were integrated before BIS 2.6 will require deletion from the BIS and setting that account back up on the new BIS (which basically provides for the new service book to be pushed to your device).
Users who login to email settings via the WAP browser will now have the option to see the password they are typing (which can be handy for those using Suretype keyboards).
That seems to be able it for new features with BIS 2.6.Stay tuned for a launch very soon…
