TELUS’ iDEN brand Mike has been in need of a serious BlackBerry update! People with dying 7520 and 7100i’s were feeling hopeless until today. TELUS introduced the hot new BlackBerry Curve 8350i featuring Wi-Fi, full QWERTY keyboard, 2.0 megapixel camera, OS 4.6 and of course Push To Talk (PTT). You can pick up the new Mike BlackBerry for only $249.99 with three year contract or $599 without starting today.
TELUS today also introduced new Mike smartphone data plans, which start at only $30/month and give you unlimited email, IM and web browsing or $45/month with unlimited email, IM, web browsing, text messaging, caller ID and voicemail.

too bad no stores here have it yet… also good to know they have unlimited text messaging plan available but this bb doesn’t support txting….yet, unless someone can tell me different, just like the current 7520 and 7100i.
The 8350i does support txting.
Excellent phone, excellent capabilities
All this hype for an old phone with a few new tricks. Telus and Blackberry still have not learned anything. They left out the same things they left out with my 7100i. No texting, no net alerts, and the famous iDen system still does not work properly. As the owner of a small courier company I need the Mike system. I require a Mike phone for communication with our drivers and was hoping that the 7100i would be a good extention for my business needs. The cheaper the phones from Telus for the Mike systems work better then my Blackberry. The new 8350i does not address any of the needs that we were waiting for.
Question: When will Telus and Blackberry learn to give the client what they need for business, since the Mike system is geared toward business?
Been waiting for a new Bberry with Mike capability, finally got the thing and am now suffering regarding due to stone aged texting capabilities. Want to send a text? Have to send the text online after MEMORIZING phone number of recipient (no access to conact lists). Want to recieve a text? Doesn’t tell you who sent it unless they’ve attached a signature or phone number to the text, something many people never do. This thing’s a hockey puck…
As usual Mike phones are garbage. I had an original blackberry (don’t recall the model #) I returned it after 4 months and they said it was worthless to them for any rebate. I went back to an i580 and won’t bother again with their blackberry updates. I do wish that their mike system would work in Quebec. Its a joke
everything said about this phone is true… garbage, garbage, GARBAGE… so very frustrating… not to mention how rude i was treated by telus customer service when i pointed out these flaws…. dwight at telus in toronto YOU SHOULD BE FIRED !
I must say, I have had this phone the 8350i for about a month,,, and I LOVE IT!. Its the best blackberry out there. The only draw back is that the text feature isnt yet working. I can receive texts, but cant send. They are working on a fix I am told. But the rest is great. The wifi is fantastic, the email, camera, everything about it, the bluetooth works better then my old MIKE i580 too.
there isnt a bad thing to say, just waiting for the text to work!
I have this phone from Telus, its a good phone but their network blows. No texting or mms? What the hell is this?
I have had the phone for about 3 months now, when I first got it there was a problem where the network would shut completely off and the phone became useless. After 20 someodd days they finally said okay lets get you a replacement so they did. First 30 days the network only shut off once so I thought nothing of it…Since then its been about 5 times so I have to take the battery out and put it back in to reset the damn thing cause nothing else will work.
As for the texting I was able to receive them before and now- nothing. Not sure what happened there.
The phone is a good phone but there is a few things that need to be fixed.
Why? Can’t send sms of text , the cellephone no have for send sms
