RIM files for weird SureType QWERTY Keyboard design

December 27, 2008 | By | 2 Comments

In the past Research In Motion has been known to come up with some weird designs for their smartphones. Many of these ideas have never been actually put into the marketplcae and this is one we kind of hope doesn’t as well. RIM has filed patents for a weird compact style QWERTY keyboard configuration. Basically it appears like a modified version of their SureType keyboard then when turned sideways its a full QWERTY SureType keyboard. Very odd design indeed. Who knows what RIM has planned for this design if anything at all. Regardless its a great find by the folks at CellPasion.
