Have the Tour and it worked perfectly. Saved me a lot of time from having to manually put in all my contacts (Because Verizon is a bunch of Nazi's and wanted to charge me to transfer from my old phone). For all the whiners out there... this is FREE... clean out your contacts a little... Granted it would be a lot better product if as suggested they synced your phone with a special BB Contact list in your Contacts... but again it's FREE. Thanks again google for saving me some time.

I've used Google sync since its initial release and it works well for calendars. Well enough for me to be able to depend on it for my critical work calendar.

However, the Contacts integration, which I was very excited about and have been desperate for, should not have been included in this early stage of development. It does not allow you to select direction of sync (it goes both ways) AND it draws from your My Contacts in Google, which cannot be edited as easily as a folder you create. This means you end up getting needless garbage downloaded to your blackberry - an email address you may want in Gmail but don't want it cluttering up your BB contacts. The cleanest solution would be for Sync to create a Blackberry Contacts folder in your Google contacts, moving all your BB contacts up to it. Then, for Google contacts you want downloaded to your BB, you could add them to the BB Contacts folder. This would give you far more control over what gets synced. But, My Contacts is not the place for syncing, given that core folder's limitations.

This product is not ready for primetime. In fact, it's not ready for beta and should be pulled until it is. And I'm someone who is very tolerant of early stage Google betas.

I strongly advise people against trying this at this time.

umm.. it doesn't work. it will actually duplicate address and phone number entries each time it syncs (I've even read of deleted contact data). The biggest problem you'll have is the huge hit in terms of transferred data (apparently does not support wifi). Look to see this feature updated soon, but don't trust it now. The Calendar syncing, still works.
