TELUS Storm launching 11/17, plus more Pearl colors

We’ve received a very solid tip that TELUS’ release date for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 is set for November 17th (unless RIM pushes it back). If this is right TELUS would have a five day exclusive over Bell here in Canada. The tipster also is reporting that TELUS will charge users .50 cents per stream of Youtube clips, however if the client has certain data packages with web browsing (not known which ones at this time) then Youtube streaming will be included. Last but not least TELUS will be introducing both Red and Blue BlackBerry Pearl 8130’s early next month.
UPDATE: The tipster has sent in a few more details… Below is a picture of the two new colored Pearl 8130’s. Apparently the Storm is expected for November 17th, however RIM may still be working on software patches. Unfortunately no more details are available as of now. I guess we will have to play the waiting game…

I have found out that the storm will not be released on the 17 of november because RIM has pushed it back to a later date mangers at telus say and empolyee say first week of december if this is true which I hope its not I don’t think I cxan handel it

I had just gone to our Q4 Rally at the Ontario Science Centre where we showcase our new devices to be launched for the Christmas season and the Launch date is Dec. 8, I REPEAT, DECEMBER 8TH.
oh boy oh boy as we can all see we can not wait for the iPhone killer. Blackberry storm will have us paralized. November 17 may still happen.
how can it happen – its the 11th already??! you think they can launch in 6 days?
I am negotiating with Telus for the Storm to be issued in our Corporate office as we speak and I am fairly confident no one other than a possible select few have any idea of the actual release date. It is all part of the hype to pre-sell as many units as they can. Basically if you want to be sure to get one anywhere close to the release date find your best reseller and get on their list for first contact. If they tell you they don’t have a list they are full of beans, they ALL have a contact list.
Yea this tipster was right on the money eh? Nov 19th and still no release date from Telus…. just goes to show you how articles based on speculation are only good as toilet paper.

“Informer” … you are correct.
Blackberry found a problem with a “chip” that was loosing the “settings” put into the “Storm” by a consumer just days later. Then the “Storm” powers up with it’s “default” settings as if it was being turned on for the very first time.
Stores and TELUS have returned their initial orders for replacement … but a December 8th launch date is more likely to take place a week later … on December 15th.
Country-wide launch moved to January 2009.
Only a thousand units will be available for sale starting December 15, 2008.
i have the storm now for a week or so and it sucks big time. Give me back my bold. Our company switched from rogers to telus and Telus as you does not offer the bold. Storm freezes,mis dial and so on .I hope our IT genius thought out how much all the dropped calls and missed calls are goint to cost rthe company.
