BlackBerry Storm brews closer for Verizon
September 4th, 2008 | 5 Comments | Posted in BlackBerry, Featured News, Rumors, Storm/95xx Series, USA, Verizon

Great news has just arrived from the Boy Genius! It seems that the BlackBerry Storm 9530 (formally known as Thunder) has been moved into Technical Acceptance by Verizon. This means that usually devices in this process are 3-4 weeks away. However the device may be delayed internally by RIM for an additional 3-4 weeks. This will give them enough time to work out all of the kinks (ie. the touch screen) but with any luck at all we may see it sometime in November.
As always stay tuned for more information!!

Can we honestly expect VZW to launch this on time when they are still using OS 4.3 on their ‘current download’ page for the Pearl and Curve? According to phone support at VZW they said they are having, ‘a few software issues’ with 4.5 and their network - possibly linked to the Docs to Go setup? - but I have little faith in the company that’s already 6 months behind on the software bandwagon launching a new tech device from the same carrier…
Just my 2 cents!

Any new BlackBerry devices will feature OS 4.5 or higher. It wouldn’t surprise me if they launch this with 4.7. Most likely we will see OS 4.5 become available to all networks within the next month or two.

What would be basically the different between BB 9500 Thunder and BB9530 Storm?
I am thinking of buying the Storm BB 9530.
