We have confirmed with two sources that Telus will be launching RIM’s first touchscreen BlackBerry later this year, however details are still a little sketchy. You may have already heard that Verizon is launching the Storm and Vodafone plus maybe Rogers as well. Well after we didn’t hear about Telus we started digging. Two close sources (who both confirmed Telus launching the Pearl 8130 last year) confirmed Telus will launch the 9530 before or around Christmas this year. Now at this time we don’t have any pricing or official dates but stay tuned!

Well this is very good news! Looks like its one step closer…
A Bold Dilemma
Hey gang, heres the real poop or better yet the real scoop-
Rim and AT&T doesnt give a damn about any of us, they could give a “Hoot” about loyalty, that word got flushed in a rim toilet a long time ago. They got what everone wants. simple-
Heres the real story- Its about MONEY- AT&T and RIM are Duking it out about how much the phone will cost with and without contract-
It has nothing to do with problems with the phone currently, a couple software fixes and voila, pow, bang kick it up a notch- Even Emeril wants one of these. They will fix the broken software and slow this and slow that, but there is NO SOFTWARE FIX for money, and thats what this is all about currently, Not us, but MONEY$$$$ Whens the last time a manufacturer realeased a perfect phone? NEVER! They fix it- Can you fix money? Theyre banging heads over HOW MUCH! nothing else
Well larry… i dont know if youve realized or not.. everything takes time to fully finish… look at windows vista for example….. ??? The whole worls is about money. Sorry to tell you.
Good luck and i hope you like your thunder if you get one.
Confirmed with a friend of mine that Bell is also getting this one about the same time. It sounds like Rogers is out. Too bad for them. I’d take the Storm over the iPhone any day.
i just went through all rim software parts and accessories and there is nothing listed on telus inventory whatsoever. i agree we will get it hopefully a little sooner than christmas but were not out of the water yet
i work for promo sales from telus and we know all the phones before they come out and soo far theres no talks of this blackberry or the bold :( which suckss the curv is soo outdated now, however the HTC Touch diamond is pretty neat we can barely keep it in stock !
actually i was wrong , i asked today and we will have it out by Christmas
I’d really like to know a rough date for launch. I currently have a 7130e and its very out dated. I want to replace it with something brand spanking new like the thunder/storm! I’ve been holding off and holding off in anxious anticipation of these uber cool BlackBerry’s from Telus.
they said it will be out for our next quarter launch which is around dec !
Will that be like ending of November/beginning December or near the end of December?
yepp! Hopefully sooner, u can find details here

Telus has placed a link on the website. The rumors are over folks. Just a mater of when.
Ya, I saw it on the website today. it’s supposed to be a world phone as well, I’m just hoping that it works in the North American GSM networks as well.
As a Blackberry is supposed to be first and formost a business tool, I cannot see this thing being of any use to me unless it can plug into a real keyboard. I for one cannot see myself in a hotel room preparing for a major meeting and editing a 500 page report on a Blackberry using only my thumbs. I can type 100 words a minute using a real keyboard, but using only my thumbs on a virtual keyboard this efficiency is down to about 15 words a minute. So when you have to add 25 pages to a report in a hurry typing with your thumbs isn’t going to cut it. Does anyone know if the new Blackberry Storm will have a real keyboard as an optional accessory?
The LCD screen on my one year old Blackberry 8800 is cracked and gradually covered with black ink. The repair will cost $150. Still have 2 years contract with Rogers. Would ike to know whether the Blackberry Storm/Thunder will be available with Rogers by the end of 2008? Thank you
STORM’s cumin out on Nov. 11!!!!
OO by the way its around $250
