RIM captures 10% of U.S. handset market

A report in the Vancouver Sun explains that Reserach In Motion (RIM) has captured 10% of the United States market. The report which was done by Strategy Analytics says mobile phone shipments were up 5.3% to nearly 42 million handsets. RIM took 10.3% of that total. One of my favorite lines in the report is the beginning:

Amid a daily flurry of leaked details behind Research In Motion Ltd.’s coming BlackBerry lineup from the blogosphere, the Canadian tech giant received a shot in the arm Monday after a U.K.-based research firm said its U.S. mobile device market share crossed the 10-per-cent threshold for the first time.”
