Download OS 4.5.0.77 unofficially for 8830 & 8330

That’s right! Get your hands on it before it disappears. Berry Review’s Ninjas seem to have found copies of RIM’s unreleased OS 4.5.0.77 for both the CDMA BlackBerry 8830 and Curve 8330. Apparently this version of the OS fixes the small delay of answering voice calls noticed in 4.5.0.66.

be careful with the 4.5.0.77…I upgraded my phone and now all my alerts are missing and i’m not notified when an email or SMS text comes. I’m going back to the 4.5.0.51

it appears this release does not contain any ringtones. That is why you are not receiving alerts (at least that is why I wasn’t).

I ran into the same problem and realized it had no ringtones. I tried to load my own and that worked. I have also noticed that the phone does not vibrate as strong as it did with os 4.2.2

The new email client and browser were a nice update for the 8830.
