OK HERE IS THE SOLUTION TO YOUR HOTMAIL EMAILS ON YOUR BB…I have the 8830 world edition for verizon…Basically, i’ve tried it all and the answer is this link

    http://get.live.com/mailplus/features

You must upgrade to windows hotmail live plus for $19.99/yr. Then add and/or re-add your hotmail on your BB (using email setup on your BB) and YOU ARE READY to go!…it worked perectly for me! good luck!

  2. Fahad says:

I did the windlowslive procedure, but still unable to add the hotmail account on BB.
    Plz suggest anyother solution.

  3. Tran says:

I have T Mobile and I upgraded my hotmail account to Plus and I was still unable to add the account on my BB.

I then decided to forward my messages to my BB email. Before I upgraded to Plus I was unable to forward to any other server except MSN providers.

Now that I upgraded, I am able to forward the email to any provider and keep copies in my hotmail account.

I tested it with an email to myself and I recieved it on my phone instantly. Thats good enough for me.

  4. Tran says:

Cont….. The above action is also great for those who do not need internet service on your phone.

I only need emails sent to me so this saves money from having a plan that calls for internet access.

  5. viper says:

you can not forward your hotmail account to another email account unless its a hotmail, msn or live account..

  6. Charlie says:

I was able to get to my hotmail account from my blackberry by doing the following:

    1) On your blackberry web browser, press menu key and select Go To… from the drop down and enter mobile.msn.com
    2) On the mobile web page select the Hotmail link in upper left corner of web page (it’s the first link)
    3) In the Windows Live Id page select the first link: @hotmail.com
    4) In the next page enter your email address in the first box (i.e. fontaic for me). You don’t have to enter the .hotmail.com portion
In the next box enter your password and click the “sign in” link

    5) You should now be in your hotmail account (click the blackberry menu button and select Add Bookmark from the drop down)

  7. RJ says:

ok.. The Options as i have found with my Verizon BB Pearl are:

1.) Using the phones Browser type http://www.mobile.live.com Then enter you e-mail and password.

2.) Pay the $20/yr for the Plus Access.

3.) Foward your e-mail from your Hotmail Acct. to another Acct accessable through your BB.

  8. Tran says:

    Viper:

You can forward it to any email if you pay to upgrade your free account to a “Plus” account which costs $19 a year.

  9. ROB says:

Once again, I have the Verizon 8830 BB World Edition. All I had to do was upgrade to the “plus” hotmail and then AFTER you have, just go to “set up wizard” on your BB and add your email account. I did not have to FWD anything, it comes the same way as my Yahoo. It worked for my brother as well yesterday. Good luck!

  10. Kieran says:

ok i had the same issues with my hotmail and my blackberry nothing will fix this combo, but i found a way to go around it, get a windows live id(you@live.com) then go to your hotmail acct options and forward your emails to your windows live acct, then on your blackberry delete the hotmail acct. then add your new windows live acct, and you will get your emails in about 10mins no joke it works!you might want to change accts to windows live anyway!

I can find one on the toolbar but it does not have “maintenance” under “advanced”. HELP please! thanks

  20. geezapaul says:

  22. Evokato says:

Will this technique cancel out accounts I already have receiving email on my BB? Also I need to download windows live ON THE PHONE correct? Thanks!

  23. snafumaster says:

Have you folks tried using the Blackberry Internet Service? Works just fine for me and I have the free account (same one I’ve had for eons). The way I add them is I go to http://sprint.blackberry.com and set up an account. After I have a Blackberry Internet Service account, I add my hotmail account and it works just fine.

  24. Katisha says:

I used these instructions and they worked perfectly. I’ve had my blackberry for nearly a year and didn’t want to add another email address to my list. Now that this works, I have access to my main email address right from my device. Yayyy

  25. WCT says:

After reading all these replies, I need to know if I really need to purchase the Hotmail plus or can this actually be done somehow w/o having to forward to another email address which is a huge pain. I have my BB through Verizon and as everyone else described, cannot get my emails on my BB with my Hotmail account.. HELP! Thanks.

  26. Barry says:

Is the agenda from hotmail compatible with the BB??

  27. al says:

i logged on but am not able to download the software.  help.  I do have my hotmail set up on my blackberry, but it doesn’t synch properly.  If I delete on my device, it updates hotmail, but when I delete a message on hotmail from the internet, it doesnt update my blackberry curve.  I have AT&T Wireless.

  28. Shyam says:

I am recently having the same problem on my curve 8310 (AT&T). When I delete a message on my hotmail, it does not delete on my blackberry. Until a week ago this issue was not occurring. I called up AT&T yesterday & they put me thru to RIM. I was amazed that the person helping me at RIM had no idea that hotmail messages even opened on the device would reflect as opened on hotmail. I am wondering if this has something to do with the OS on the device. I hated OS 4.5 since it made the device extremely sluggish so I changed to OS 4.2 and ever since then I am having these issues.

  29. Andrew says:

You guys that are just “forwarding” are missing the point… if you can pair your account with your Blackberry, you can SEND messages from that e-mail, too. That helps out a lot when you’re in school and you have to use your official address (which is now LIVE) when messaging teachers and such, or with organizations and business.

  30. Shyam says:

Will upgrading the account to plus sync the mail appropriately i.e. will emails deleted on the web get automatically deleted on the handheld device?
Does windows live handle the properly or do I need to delete messages individually on the handheld device?

  31. Lindsey says:

#17 from Charlie worked great – thanks!

  32. Mich says:

I have an 8330 from Sprint and I have the same issue with syncing my Hotmail. Items deleted on the computer do not get deleted on the BB. Items deleted on the BB are deleted on the computer.
    Any ideas?

  33. Mel says:

Hi, I am having the same prob: when I read or delate an email from my BB, the change appears on my hotmail account when I log in via a web browser, but changes made while logged in on a web browser do not show up on the BB.
    Any suggestion?

  34. Amber says:

Can someone help me to find the “tool” button when signing into live/hotmail? i have been looking way too long and feel like it can’t be that difficult.

    Thank you!

  35. Edna says:

I have tried this but after logging in I cannot find the Tool button for the life of me. Can someone help me find it?
    Thanks,

  36. K.B. says:

I don’t know what the big deal is. I set up a gmail account on the web and my curve. Forwarded all my hotmail messages to my gmail account, and changed the settings on my gmail account to “Reply to:” and “Sent from: “as my hotmail account.

Forwarding isn’t such a big pain, there is a slight delay but on the other hand, you have an automatic backup account.

  37. Mark says:

Microsoft has added POP3 & SMTP support to their free email services. I’m currently using it with Entourage. I don’t see why it won’t work with the Blackberry now.

  38. jaz says:

I tried it and when I downloaded windows live, it totally screwed up my hotmail account and now have no access to my inbox. It is asking me to create a new email account. And still doesn’t work on my blackberry.

  42. Nas says:

    1st comment above worked.
I am with the Fido Network.
Except, there was no POP button, so I clicked on everything (general, newsgroups….all of it)
and resent the service books off the blackberry site.

    Voila!

    Thanks for the tips!!!!

  43. Shawon says:

Is this all necessary? I just added my Hotmail account along with my Gmail account the regular way, using the internet email setup thing from the BB menu and I just put in the username and password and it automatically added and works fine.

  44. Sarah says:

This worked for me on my Curve 8330. After trying to simply log-in with my username and password and having no luck, I tried this and it worked like a charm! Thank you. :) (No extra steps for me really, I already had Windows Live Mail on my desktop, just had to change the settings).

  45. Very nice information. Thanks for this. Hope you visit my site and post up some stuff :)
