Thats right folks! BlackBerry Media Sync is now available for download. This means anyone with a BlackBerry Pearl, Curve, 8800 or Bold can sync their iTunes library with their BlackBerry via iTunes software. Unfortunately for now the software is only available for Windows and not OS X. You can sync your library with DRM-free songs, however songs purchase with DRM won’t be transferable.

Share your PIN on Facebook with Pin Exchange

PinExchange

The folks over at Crackberry have launched a new Facebook application allowing users to share their BlackBerry device PIN’s. You can add the application to Facebook by heading over to PinExchange.com. Kevin from CrackBerry says:

“For existing BlackBerry users upgrading to newer device models and for all the first-time BlackBerry owners out there, we wanted to provide an easy way to discover the current device PIN of their friends and associates,” said Kevin Michaluk, CrackBerry.com’s founder and community editor. “The BlackBerry PIN Exchange application does just that, and also adds a social-networking component for those who want it. Now Facebook users, who happen to include a good cross-section of BlackBerry users, have another great way to stay in touch with their contacts and make new friends.”

CDMA Curve 8330 sooner than you think!

BlackBerry Curve 8330

Ok so here’s the final word on the upcoming and long awaited CDMA BlackBerry Curve 8330. According to a great tipster from RIM the Curve 8330 will be seen before WES in May and should make an apperance within the next month or so. It will NOT be a World Edition and will only feature GPS no Wi-Fi. Verizon, Sprint, Telus and Bell will all see the Curve 8330 shortly, some sooner than others (sorry that’s all we can say for now…) but we promise you will see it rushed out soon.

RIM patents sliding QWERTY keyboard w/ Trackball

RIM slider device

Maybe a touch screen BlackBerry is in RIM’s future after all. RIM has filed a patent today showing off a new slide out keyboard, which would come from under the screen. The patent which is titled “HYBRID PORTRAIT-LANDSCAPE HANDHELD DEVICE WITH TRACKBALL NAVIGATION AND QWERTY HIDE-AWAY KEYBOARD” would make perfect sense for RIM’s next generation berry. The description of the patent is as follows:

A device is disclosed for use in two different orientations. In one orientation, the keyboard is exposed to the user. This orientation is named the landscape orientation because the device will be positioned such that its width is larger than its height. The user would opt for the landscape orientation for tasks that require the keyboard, such as inputting data, drafting emails, sending emails, and other functions typically associated with a standard computer. The other orientation is named the portrait orientation because the device will be positioned such that its height is larger than its width. In addition, the keyboard is not used in this orientation and therefore hidden away. The user would opt for the portrait orientation for tasks such as making and receiving telephone calls and for reading documents and emails. The device detects the orientation positioned by the user and modifies the elements shown on the display screen so that they are presented in the correct orientation to the user. [Source]
