Motorola Q9h Smartphone hands-on

Looks like Boy Genius got his hands on the un-released Motorola Q9h smartphone. The Q9h is part of the thin Windows powered smartphones by Motorola designed to go head to head with BlackBerries (design wise). Check out the gallery. How will it take on the BlackBerry Curve? Any thoughts?

Looks way too big to even compete with the curve, that thing is pretty long/wide.

Ok, so I have been a blackberry user since the hockey puck days. I have owned every model up to and including the curve. Unfortunatley, I now work for a company that supports only the microsoft platform. I purchased the Q9h from ATT to replace my curve. Although not as intuitive as the Curve, once I got acclimated, I find the Q a very good device. It is much more seemles to outlook which runs on my desktop, and more easily integrates with other email services from the device vs. blackberry.net. The additional MS Office usability is built in vs. an additional app to read and review MS Docs, Spreadsheets and PPT files. I find the GPS a very useful feature when I travel. I will say the Q’S battery is less than adequate, I have to use the fat battery to make it through a whole day whch adds girth. I prefer the Q’s rotary navigation vs. the trackball, as I had to replace my BBerry trackball twice in the first year of ownership.

Net net - if you are using this phne for business, the additional size is overcome by the additional functionality. If it was a personal device, I would go Curve all the way.
