I followed the exact steps described but when I tried to upgrade, the DM tells me that there is no upgrade required for my BB. Can somebody please please tell me why? I am desperate to upgrade to firmware 4.5 for my pearl 8100 to get the support for A2DP. Many many thanks to anyone who can email me with an answer.

Ha! What a joke! This software upgrade did NOTHING to fix memory leak problem. I have version 4.3.0.97 and the memory problems are AWFUL. It’s ONLY 8100’s & 8800’s. Not any of the other Blackberry models. Why does RIM continue to sell a product that has a KNOW defect? Seems very underhanded to me. I did not know about this problem when I bought my phone last year and I have another year to go before my upgrade. I take mine in to Verizon every time I go to the mall. It’s always the same. “They” are working on a patch. Right. The solution is to take the battery out constantly to try to stay ahead of the leak? Am I the only one that thinks that is a ridiculous thing to have to do, in order to get the device that I paid $300 for to work like it is SUPPOSED to? How about a RECALL since you can’t fix it, RIM?
