If you like me and you use Gmail as your mail email account you can set it up on your BlackBerry. HOWEVER when you do set it up it gets highly annoying because everytime you send an email it comes back to you as a new message. Well a moderator by the name of Pizzle over at BlackBerryForums.com has posted how to setup a filter to stop the annoying sent mail returning to you.

The six easy steps:

  1. Login to your BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) you can find the links on the sidebar —>
  2. Find your gmail account and click on filters
  3. Enter the filter name “no sent mail gmail”
  4. Select the “from” field from the drop down menu
  5. Under contains enter your @gmail.com email address, then simply select “do not forward messages to handheld”.
  6. Click save and your done!

when I try to access the Rogers BIS from my laptop, it says I’m not allowed to look at the html site, and can only access it from my phone.

when I use by BB to check out the BIS site, there’s no option to create filters. any clue what else I should do?

Adam, I just went through the same thing you did with my Verizon service. What you have to do is access BIS from your phone and create a user name and password for BIS services. This should be one of the options on the main menu. Once the username and password is created on your BB, you can log onto the internet site via desktop with that info. From there you can access the filter setting that will stop this gmail sent msgs issue.

  3. Thank you for your help!

I just have to post about this, but this reminded me of the just released news with Craigslist’s CEO demanding for an apology from the AG of South Carolina. Always something new with Craigslist and things in the news.
